This delightful quarter horse cross is eager to find her forever home. Mollie is a smart, honest nine-year old who rides both Western and English. She’s competed in 4-H and open shows and has trail experience as well. Sound and healthy, she stands 14.1 hands high.
Mollie first came to us in 2010. A group of horse lovers discovered her at an auction and could see her wonderful potential. She spent over a year in the loving and dedicated care of a Cowgirl Spirit foster home, where she received a good deal of training both on the ground and under saddle. Mollie was adopted by a 4-H family and spent a happy year with them before unforeseen circumstances forced them to return her to us. We’re happy to be reunited with this sweet girl but believe she deserves a family of her own.
This well-trained mare loads politely in a trailer and hauls quietly. She bathes, stands cross- or straight-tied, and is a good girl for the vet and the farrier. Mollie enjoys living in a pasture with shelter and would also do fine in a barn or stall with turnout. She gets along great with other horses who understand that she is the dominant mare.
A thinking horse, Mollie can be quite playful and does like to test her humans. She needs a person who is at least an advanced beginner working with a trainer, or an intermediate rider/handler. Like any wise but young soul, sometimes Mollie mischievously will ask, “Really, are you absolutely sure that’s a good idea? Because I think I might know better than you.” She needs someone with the patience and confidence that help her trust their judgment. It’s wonderfully rewarding when this adorable mare accepts and follows her leader.
Until Mollie finds her forever family, she’ll continue in her training on the ground and under saddle. She likes the work and is a great learning partner for us!
