Kal has been adopted! We are so thrilled for him!
Kal would like to emphasize that he is THE BEST! After all, it is clearly stated right there in his name for everyone to see.
This charming and affectionate 9-year-old Thoroughbred gelding has been through trial after trial. Yet he still is a happy fellow who loves people and his best horse friends.
Kal is a two-time rescue. He started his life on the track, in training to race, but suffered a slab fracture in his leg. His race owners chose to euthanize him rather than give him the year off to heal. Fortunately, someone saw what a special soul he is and intervened. They found him a home where he was able to recuperate from his injury. However, this was not the happy ending Kal deserved. His adopters came upon hard times and could no longer afford to keep Kal healthy. He was surrendered to Cowgirl Spirit, in an emaciated state.
Standing 15.2 hands high, Kal is now at a healthy weight. He is currently being fostered by a Cowgirl Spirit board member at Grateful Pine Farm. They’re working with him to build his strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance. He is calm and obedient under saddle, a lovely partner. Though green, he is already a phenomenal trail horse! No spook, no complications, just a lovely ride on a loose rein. He was born for trail riding. He goes through water, over logs, doesn’t bat an eye at bikes or strollers… is he your next trail horse?
