Meet the world’s goofiest horse! He was born on April Fool’s Day and knows it! Scooby’s sense of humor, creative antics, and love for people steal the heart of everyone he meets. This 9-year-old, 15.2 hh Quarter Horse gelding craves attention and gives as much affection as he receives.
Scooby is double registered NFQHA/AQHA as Ain’t No Risk. He was rescued from the kill pen at a horse auction and no one could understand how someone could give up on such a puppy-dog of a horse!
Soon after Scooby arrived at Cowgirl Spirit, we discovered that he had developmental navicular abnormalities that were causing him terrible pain. For some time, this deserving fellow enjoyed the tender loving care of Northwest Equine Stewardship Center, where he received extensive rehabilitation therapy.
Because of his navicular, Scooby won’t be a riding horse, but that doesn’t mean he can’t provide a lifetime of love and fun to some lucky adopter! Smart and eager for attention, Scooby has the potential to excel at tricks, as a therapy horse, or perhaps as a beautiful companion pal on a happy farm.
His new best friend should be a calm horse; Scooby is so enthusiastic about running alongside an energetic pasture mate that he can sometimes make himself sore. However, Scooby is a very social horse and craves daily interaction from his human and pasture pals, so he would not be happy without a companion.
Perhaps you have the right home for Scooby? He’d make a hilarious and handsome addition to your family and fill your days with love.
Scooby is available for adoption or for a one-year foster commitment. Our normal adoption fee is $750. However, we make special considerations for horses like Scooby.
