Scooby (registered name Ain’t No Risk) is a six year old dark bay registered Quarter Horse gelding, standing approximately 15.2 hands high. He was rescued by Cowgirl Spirit in July of 2012 from the kill-pen at the Enumclaw horse auction.
This boy is A GOOF. He is just a fun-loving, smart, silly boy! He just lights up your heart and soul when you are near him.
He reportedly has had ground work done in the past, and is very easy to work with on the ground, but he has been diagnosed with developmental navicular abnormalities. This is a very painful condition in his lower legs that force Scooby to be on stall rest, with limited hand-walking, indefinitely.
Thanks to Northwest Equine Stewardship Center, Scooby is getting the stall rest and pain management that he needs, as well as daily therapies including acupuncture, chiropractic, energy work, shockwave treatments, equine massage and more. Scooby is in Dr. Hannah’s care and she and her team are doing all they can to keep Scooby comfortable, as well as attempting to find him a sponsor, or better yet, a forever home.
Because Scooby is such a special case, if you feel that you can provide him with a loving, compassionate home, please contact us directly for more information.
If you are able to help with Scooby’s ongoing medical costs, please donate via PayPal, noting “Scooby.” Please note — you don’t need a PayPal account to donate!
